Parish council proposes to rename itself
Within a year or two, we'll be electing a mayor to run the whole of Sussex and it looks as though a big, new "unitary authority" will take over everything that is currently done by our district council in Chichester and West Sussex County Council. That could leave a deep gap between our community and this new body.

Final consultation starts on the "future of local government in West Sussex"
The Government has asked councils to explore how local government reorganisation could work in our area, with the aim of replacing the current county, district and borough councils with a new council or councils responsible for all your local services from April 2028.
This aims to make services simpler for residents and businesses across West Sussex.

Annual governance & accountability return approved - accounts available to public

New community charity launched
A local community charity has been formed to help fund and improve facilities, activities and services for the community. National Grid to work on parish overhead lines through to November 2025
National Grid has provided some information about upcoming works in the Parish over this year as part of the Lovedean to Bolney Overhead Line Refurbishment. This line consists of 190 steel towers (pylons) with two circuits. Parish action plan approved, team leaders appointed
At its meeting on 10 January, the parish council approved the initial action plan drafted by the priorities task group and based on the residents survey in autumn 2023.
As part of the plan, parish council members agreed to lead one action plan team each and to recruit non-PC members to join their team, in an attempt to broaden the input and resources of the teams.
