"Packaging and the environment: bowl of cherries or can of worms?"
Tue, 26 Apr 2022 18:30
PACKAGING AND THE ENVIRONMENT – BOWL OF CHERRIES OR CAN OF WORMS?
An ERA talk by Simon Southern at 6.30pm on Tuesday 26th April at Rogate Church.
Simon's talk will expel a lot of myths about what is recyclable and what is actually recycled, where it comes from and what happens to it, with particular reference to single use plastics and their substitution by more sustainable and biodegradable materials.
Light refreshments will be provided.

Rogate Choral Society concert
Sat, 21 May 2022 19:30
This will be Rogate Choral Society's first Spring concert at St. George's, Trotton. The choir - founded in 1908 when it performed in front of Ralph Vaughan Williams at Petersfield Musical Festival – had planned to sing at St Georges in May 2000 and then in May 2001, both aspirations doomed by the dark oppressive cloud of Covid.
This year's concert will consist of works by Mozart and Mendelssohn and spring-time Madrigals including, appropriately, The First Day of Spring and Now Is The Month Of Maying. The society will be conducted by its new music director, Giles White with the soprano soloist Rowena Russell.
Tickets are available from One Tree Books in Petersfield (mail@onetreebooks.com, 01730 261199), or contact the choir's chairman: gerard.mccloskey@merlin.uk.com. The ticket price, £15, includes a glass of wine. The concert is sponsored by Trotton Estate Vineyards.
