Eco Rother Action: AGM and talk

Eco Rother Action: AGM and talk

Wed, 03 Aug 2022 18:30

A short AGM will be followed by a talk from special guest Lord Nicholas Stern, author of the Stern Review on the Economics of Climate Change. Brief summary of his talk:

'The transition to net-zero emissions can be the development story of the 21st century. We can have an economy and society that is more productive, cleaner, and healthier and full of new job opportunities. But we have to invest, innovate and change to get there and manage the dislocation along the way. COP26 was an important step forward but we have to deliver and accelerate. The window for action is closing rapidly.'

ERA members are warmly invited to attend. There will also be space for a limited number of non-members.

"Special" First Friday

Fri, 05 Aug 2022 18:00

We're planning a special First Friday for August, thanks to Anne & Paul Stephens, who have offered to host the event in their garden (with shelter if necessary!) at the Mill Farm House, Rother Lane. They are inviting all parish residents, Trotton Fete volunteers and other "regulars".

Ahead of the First Friday supper, at 6pm, there will be a meeting for all those prepared to help with the Trotton Fete on 10th September. If you can help at all before or on the day, do please join us for this informal planning session, whether or not you can stay for supper.

If you can stay for supper, though, Anne and Paul will be providing a barbecue and are only asking guests to bring a bottle and either some salad or a desert - but so that they know how many to cater for, they do ask that everyone who plans to eat books in by clicking on the title above.

First Friday: visit to Trotton vineyard

First Friday: visit to Trotton vineyard

Fri, 02 Sep 2022 18:00

This will be a First Friday with a difference: it will be at Trotton vineyard (weather permitting) where the Butlers have offered a talk, a tour and free bubbly! We'll be taking our own "bring and share" canapés / nibbles but numbers will be limited so, if there are more bookings than places, priority will be given to volunteers for the Trotton fete the next weekend!!
