I came to Trotton in 1993 as the local policeman, and despite retiring in early 2015 the nickname "Nobby the Bobby" has stuck, especially among those with longer memories. Police officers are not allowed to "play an active part in politics" but once that excuse ran out I was swiftly co-opted onto the parish council. While off-duty I often drive the Midhurst Yellow Bus and Tandem minibuses. Married to Tracy, we have two grown-up daughters and a granddaughter, all of whom live locally. Tracy and I can be seen most days walking on the charred remains of Trotton Common with our dog, Buddy.
